4cupsheaping blackberries or a mixture of berries about 1 1/2 lb.
1cupsugar, divided
1cupall purpose flour
1 1/2teaspoonsbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
3/4cupwhole milk
3tablespoonsunsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease a 9 inch pie plate, or 5-6 cup baking dish. Place the berries in the dish, sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.
Pour the remaining dry ingredients into a bowl. Add the milk, melted butter and remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Mix until the wet and dry ingredients are incorporated.
Spoon the batter over the berries. The batter may not completely cover the berries! Bake until golden brown. About 30-35 minutes. Serve while warm with vanilla ice cream.
