Blackberry Slump

  • 4 heaping cups blackberries about 1 1/2 lb.
  • 1 cup sugar less if the berries are sweet
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Grease a pie plate, or 5-6 cup gratin dish. Place the berries in the greased dish, sprinkle with 1/2 to 3/4 cups sugar, depending on the sweetness of the berries. Sift all dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the milk, melted butter and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter over the berries. Don't worry if the mixture does not completely cover the berries. Bake until golden brown. About 30-35 minutes. Serve while warm with vanilla ice cream.
