ABK’s Oreo Andes Mint Ice Cream is a creamy, refreshing treat ready to cool you down this summer! Combine our mint ice cream base with chopped Oreo cookies, throw in the chocolaty richness of Andes mints, and bring this ice cream goodness to the next level. What could be tastier?

A Game Changer

Believe it or not, most of my life I was not a big fan of the mint and chocolate flavor combination. My mom didn’t like mint, so she never served it. I could go my whole life and never give mint a second thought. Until one day, I tried a delicious scoop of mint ice cream that changed my mind forever. It was “mint love at first bite.” Then at a friend’s request, I made my first batch of mint and chocolate cookie ice cream. I added chopped Andes mints to take this recipe over the top! Oh, my word. This flavor is beyond delicious.

Summer Fun

What could be a more classic summer activity than making ice cream together with family and friends? While the barbecue is heating up, assign each guest to help mix, chop, and get the ice cream maker started. It’s always a treat to see the ice cream base thicken and create an amazing frozen dessert. Add the Oreos and Andes mints when the ice cream is almost finished and your gathering is sure to end on a sweet note!

Forget the Ice Cream Store!

Oreo Andes Mint Ice Cream is the perfect choice when your family wants a sweet treat but you don’t want to break the bank for a couple scoops of ice cream. Just buy a few add-ins, and you probably have many of the ingredients in your kitchen right now. This recipe churns up a generous quart of ice cream, enough for a few to enjoy!

Never Enough Mint?

Want an even mintier twist? Try using mint Oreos or chop up additional Andes mints to sprinkle on top. Enjoy sharing this recipe with friends and family! Or keep it hidden in the back of your freezer and savor it all yourself. It’s THAT good.

For a perfect pairing, serve Oreo and Andes Mint Ice Cream alongside our classic Tried and True Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Enjoy our creamy and refreshing mint ice cream base with chopped Oreos and Andes mints in every bite.

  • 1 cup Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Andes chocolate mints, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream or whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons mint extract

  • Place cookies in bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
  • Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes.
  • Whisk in sugar a little at a time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the cream and milk and whisk to blend. Add the peppermint extract and blend again.
  • Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following manufacturer’s directions.
  • After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is done), add the chopped cookies and mints, then continue freezing until the ice cream is ready.
  • Makes a generous 1 quart.

My friend Leeanne says, “In the world of extract, a little goes a long way.” Profound. Especially with mint.
You’ll know when the ice cream is just about finished when the churning slows down. This is the time to add the Oreos and Andes mints.
