3 Ingredient Pumpkin Butter

I will never get sick of pumpkin spice. Maybe it’s a good thing we only do pumpkin spice flavoring for a couple months out of the year. It keeps it special and something to look forward to. I love making all of my favorite pumpkin recipes over the months of September/October/November. There are so many good ones out there. I love the simple ones with only a few ingredients. This pumpkin butter recipe is at the top my list. It’s sweet, smooth, and has the perfect fall taste from the pumpkin spice.
This pumpkin butter is good on pretty much anything. A slice of toast, a warm homemade roll, short stack of pancakes, fluffy waffle, or just a spoonful by itself. It’s so simple to put together- only 3 ingredients!! That’s my kind of recipe. It also makes such a cute fall gift to give. Spoon some of it into a mason jar, add a lid, a cute ribbon and you’ve got one great neighbor gift! Feel free to freeze it in a freezer-safe container until ready to use. It’s always a good surprise to find some extra pumpkin butter in your freezer just waiting to be spread on a few pancakes.
All you need is a can of pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup sugar, and a little bit of pumpkin spice. Now that it’s fall you probably already have a can of pumpkin and pumpkin spice in your pantry. So there’s no excuse not to make this delicious pumpkin spread. Mix all of the ingredients in a saucepan over the stove on medium heat. Stir and cook until the sugar dissolves. Keep it chilled before serving and enjoy with all of your favorite breads, breakfast foods, etc! This also makes a really tasty dip for apples. I love all of the possibilities with this simple autumn recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup canned pumpkin, ½ cup sugar, and 1½ tsp. pumpkin pie spice in saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Chill before serving.
  4. Good as a dip for apples or a spread on waffles, pancakes, crackers, or baguette slices.
